NNMC has been working for promoting the rights of Adibashi and Dalit communities in Bangladesh. Working with these marginalized groups, NNMC has identified some crucial issues for improvements of their livelihoods and rights. Among all these issues that have been identified, education is one of the most crucial issue to promote their situation as education is not only the basic need for their development, rather education is the right of every human being. Bangladesh Government has taken various steps to insure education especially, primary education for all but; the children of these disadvantaged groups have little access to education. Due to poverty, untouchability, lack of awareness, and lack of government monitoring system, they are deprived from their fundamental right and they mostly remain illiterate. With the given context, NNMC felt to exchange of opinion with the Mass and Primary Education Ministry for ensuring the rightsof these communities. Therefore, a sharing meeting was held in CIRDAP Conference Hall in Dhaka on the 5th of June, 2015. The purpose of this sharing meeting was to highlight the present condition of education of these Adibasi and Dalit children and to find way out for changing their condition.
Participants: The Chief Guest for this conference was the Honorable Minister for Primary and Mass Education, Advocate Mustafizur Rahman. Mr. Nazmul Huq Prodahn, the Honorable MP, was present as the Special Guest, and Mr. HarishankarJaldas, an eminent writer.
