Observation of The Intl Human Rights Day

NNMC organized a seminar and fair to observe the International Human Rights Day on 20th December, 2014 at Engineers Institutions, Ramna, Dhaka. The objective was to create awareness among the mass people on Adibahsi and Dalit Communities. Mr. Hasanul Haque  Inu, the honorable  Information Minister of Republic  Government of Bangladesh was the chief guest of the Seminar. The eminent writers- Selina Hossain, Dr. Hori shanker Jolo Das, Dr. Mesbah Kamal and Dr. Sadeka Halim was the special guest of the event. Representatives from the Adibashi and Dalit communities and civil society organizations were also joined the event. Total 80 numbers of guests were participated in the Seminar and visited the fair. At first, the eminent writer Selina Hossain and Dr. Hori Shankar Jolo Das opened the fair. Then all of the invited guests visited the stalls. Along with the NNMC partner organizations, Fair, Paritran, Sharee and BDERM took part in this fair. At the beginning, Dr. Shahid uz Zaman, executive director and convener of NNMC, welcomed all the guests for joining the program and explained   about NNMC’s goal, values and major achievement during the tenure. Dr. Sadeka Halim presented the study finding which was conducted on plain land Adibashi rights and livelihood situation. 

The honorable Information Minister said that Bangladesh government has taken various initiatives to educate the marginalized communities. But due to lack of coordination, the facilities have not reached to everyone. Coordination between NGOs and Government activities should be increased. Present Government is progressive and has strong commitment to eliminate of poverty and any type of discrimination. He hoped that through working together we can overcome the situation. He also expressed his commitment to provide support towards the NNMC.
